Angioma of the Vertebra

چکیده
Diagnosis of angioma of the vertebra is a rarity. It may be discovered accidentally while radiographying the spine for some other lesion. And in such a case the disease remains asymptomatic. Symptoms, when present, may be pain in the back (Case No. 1) , or they may be those of spinal cord compression (Case No. 2) which are indistinguishable from those produced by spinal cord tumour. The diagnosis can only be established by radiography. The body of the involved vertebra has a slightly greater transverse diameter, and slightly less depth than the normal vertebra above' and below. When the spinal and transverse processes are involved (Fig. 1), these also show greater dimensions. The angiomatous bono is loss dense than normal, the finer trabeCT and the interstitial calcium are absorbed and a very coarse but regular trabeculation is seen, which is vertical in pattern in the body (Fig. 3), and horizontal in the transverse pro-

L1 burst fracture with associated vertebral angioma.
Vertebral angioma is a common bone tumor. We report a case of L1 vertebral angioma revealed by type A3.2 traumatic pathological fracture of the same vertebra. Management comprised emergency percutaneous osteosynthesis and, after stabilization of the multiple trauma, arterial embolization and percutaneous kyphoplasty.
متن کاملLittoral Cell Angioma: A Morphologic and Immunohistochemical Study
Littoral cell angioma is a splenic vascular tumor of splenic sinus lining cells that is considered benign in general. This report describes a case of littoral cell angioma with no malignant histological features. The lesion is composed of anastomosing vascular channels resembling splenic sinus; they are lined by endothelial cells which show mitotic activity very rare. Immunohistochemically, ...
متن کاملAngioma serpiginosum successfully treated by a single session of intense pulsed light therapy
Angioma serpiginosum (AS) is a nevoid capillary malformation developed congenitally or thereafter. The AS stops growing after puberty and may remain persistent throughout life. The pulsed dye laser (PDL) and KTP are used to treat the AS usually after several sessions. We treated a patient with AS with only one session of intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy. A 40-year-old lady with Fitzpatrick sk...
متن کاملPulmonary Cement Embolism Following Percutaneous Vertebroplasty: A Case Report, Physiopathology and Literature Review
Vertebroplasty is a percutaneous and efficient technic for treatment of painful osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, traumatic vertebral fractures or myeloma fractures [1,2]. The first vertebroplasty was performed by Galibert in 1984 so as to treat a vertebral angioma in C2. Vertebroplasty consists in cement injection in the vertebral body of the painful vertebra [3]. Although this pro...
متن کاملContrast Enhanced Echocardiography for Detection of Intrapulmonary Shunts in Liver Transplant Candidates
Background: Intrapulmonary vascular abnormalities associated with liver cirrhosis may result in intrapulmonary right-to-left shunt and hypoxemia. The aim of this study was to use contrast enhanced echocardiography to detect intrapulmonary vascular abnormalities in patients with liver cirrhosis candidates for liver transplantation. Methods: One hundred and two adult patients underwent contrast e...
